Free Day Dates for

2025
Free-Day
The regular scheduled Free-Day is the second Wednesday of each month.
If this schedule ever has to vary due to a State Holiday, or is cancelled due to an emergency, the Free-Day will be held on the next work day.

On Free-Day, a West Virginia resident, bearing proper ID  may dispose of up to 516 pounds of residential waste at no charge. (If you do not have proper WV ID, you will not be allowed to use the Free-Day service.) Any weight in excess of this will be charged at the regular disposal rate, with a minimum of $5.00.
Only one load per household /per vehicle is allowed each month. The load, to be considered free, can not contain any liquids, or construction and demolition debris. Appliances can be brought in but the maximum weight of 516 still pertains. Any appliance brought in on Free-Day that has a refrigeration unit must have the Freon removed by a certified technician prior to bringing it in.

If you come on Free-Day, please expect to wait in line for 30-45 minutes. On this day, we often process in excess of 400 vehicles.
Although we handle the traffic as quickly as possible, (we average about 40 seconds per vehicle), the volume of traffic results in long lines.
