WV Code 7-1-3ff (c) (d)
Mandatory Disposal
State law (W.V 22C-4-10) requires each citizen to Subscribe to and use a solid waste collection service and/or Provide proof that the waste was disposed.

In Mercer County, to comply with this law, county citizens have two options:
They May subscribe to an approved collection/disposal service, including local municipalities , and pay a monthly fee, or they have the option of bringing their waste to the landfill and paying the landfill fee.

Residents who deliver their waste to the Mercer County Sanitary Landfill are reminded that they must retain a landfill receipt to confirm they have properly disposed of their waste.
